Assembled Hiryu by Anken
Spec sheet on the Hiryu
Danny
has been an IJN fan since he was ten. The HIJMS Hiryu is his
favorite warship as he has been fascinated by the courageous
counter attack launched by Hiryu during the Battle of Midway.
Thus, he spent more than two years to build his dream boat:
a 1/200 R/C scratchbuilt Hiryu.
The boat has a wooden hull built from the keel up. Danny also
cut over 1,000 copper small copper plates and glued them to
the hull to imitate the plating of the real ship, and drilled
over 400 port holes on the model. He has been trying to make
everything as detail as possible, and will keep on adding
figures, scratchbuilt planes and other accessories. It is
propelled by four Tamiya Temtech 370 motors and is quite fast,
though it weighs over 16 pounds.
Check
back soon when I post the pictures of her underway.
